In reply to Anne-Marie. I wouldn't typically season rice with salt, but I know it's something that is viewed differently in different places etc. You could add a pinch if you like before cooking.

In reply to Judith. Interestingly, I have found even within one type of rice you can get differences, some need a little more than others so always as well to see what the packet says as well. I have certainly found this to work as described without issue, but recently had a different brand that needed less water. Glad it worked well with the adaptations.

On the first try this recipe yielded soggy, sticky rice, because the recipe calls for too much water. I tried again and followed the directions on the packaging of the rice this time, which calls for 1-1/2 cup of water to a 1 cup of rice, simmering the rice for 15 minutes, and then removing from heat and letting it stand for 5 to 10 minutes. The rice turned out so much better this time. I will definitely keep this recipe, with adjustments to water amount and cooking times.
