I just finished making this dish. It was very easy and fun to make (and I'm not much of a cook). I substituted grass-fed ground beef for the lamb. Result: it was really tasty, got a lot of "wow's", and I can't imagine anything that could be more nutritious than a tomato-based lentil and chick pea soup. A definite success!

I found this recipe while searching for something completely different. This sounded delicious from your description so I made it two nights ago. I doubled the recipe because we like leftovers. My husband, my son, and I ate the entire pot of soup in one sitting!!! It was soooo delicious. And your suggestion of squeezing some fresh lemon over it was perfect!
